The Sun Stars Early and So Do We
The Sunflower Experience starts with a beautiful breakfast next to our bright and beautiful sunflower field. Watching the sun shine off the flowers, you get a chance to soak it all in. You’ll have those rays warm you as you start your day with us. Seating for this portion of the Sunflower Experience is limited. Be sure to make your reservation early.
After breakfast, we open the fields for you to view the sunflowers up close. Looking up toward them as they open up toward the sun can help you remember we’re just a small piece of the earth. It’s amazing how the time melts away when you are immersed in an experience as natural and enriching as a sunflower field in bloom.
Everyone who joins us for the Sunflower Experience will also get to select and pick their perfect sunflower. After that, you can visit the rest of the orchard, including our Back 40 Fun Acres. There your family will find attractions like pony rides, face painting, and more. And on your way out don’t forget the Farm Market and Apple Bin Bakery. There, you can find the most flavorful tastes of the season.

Since 1947, Tanners Orchard has been a draw for families across Illinois. From our 17 varieties of U-Pick apples across 11,000 trees and our 20-acre U-Pick pumpkin patch, you’ll love finding the perfect fruit to bring home. U-Pick options are for $5 per person. And you can take your goodies home for $12 for a half peck or $20 for a peck. We even offer wagon rides back from the field to make it easier to get your haul home.
